Specialist coordinator to facilitate all the musical elements of your event, to help you create the 'Soundtrack To Your Story' - on hand throughout the planning stages and on site at your event to ensure your guests are happy and dancing all night.

The band is owned and managed by events co-ordinator and musician - Elisabeth Chidi, who began her journey as part of a small London based company promoting major Gospel artists from the USA such as Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and Fred Hammond, where she learned the art of anticipating the needs of artists, clients and crowds in order to achieve a successful event. Over the years, she continued to hone her expertise and in 2008 was afforded the privilege of supplying the band and being the Tour Manager for the Disco legend Gloria Gaynor on her 30th Anniversary European tour.   • Will The Band Definitely Turn Up?
    We guarantee 100% attendance always and we work within a team of high quality musicians and singers who we use in case of illness or other emergency, so you can rest assured that your event will definitely be covered.
  • Can I Come To See You Before I book?
    Unfortunately, this is not often possible as most of our performances are for private parties and weddings. However, we try to do a bi-monthly showcase where you can see us perform live, please email for details. We have also included media on this website to give you an accurate idea of what we look & sound like in a live setting, to help you make an educated choice.
  • Do You Perform Outside London?
    Yes. Although we are London based, we are equipped to travel throughout the UK and internationally. All travel within the M25 is included in your booking price. Travel outside the M25 will incur a standard millage fee. Contact us to get a bespoke quote.
  • How Long Do You Need To Set Up?
    We bring a full production with sound and lights, plus engineer to your event, therefore we need at least 2 hours to set up and make sure everything is working perfectly. For safety reasons we require that the setup is in an empty room with no guests present. If your performance room is the same room the meal is in, we may need to set up before the meal starts but these finer points can be discussed nearer the time. Contact us so we can tailor a bespoke quote for your requirements.
  • How Do I Secure My Booking?
    Contracts will be issued once the finer details of your booking have been agreed (i.e. timings, location, technical considerations). Your booking will be secured once we have received your signed contract and a booking deposit for 50% of the total fee.
  • Can I Hold a Date?
    We will hold a date for up to 14 days for a non-refundable booking deposit of £1,000 (Ultimate and Classic Pkgs.), or a non-refundable booking deposit of £500 (Essentials and Daytime Options). We will happily pencil a date for you free of charge, however we are not able to guarantee availability without taking a holding deposit.
  • Can We Make Song Requests?
    We encourage you to tell us the genres of music that float your boat and certain artists that you love, but ultimately the set list is left to us, we have so much experience of what songs get people up on their feet and feeling the vibe SoulPlay& DJ Plus have a vast repertoire and will always perform requests where possible. With the exception of fully bespoke events where specific repertoire forms part of the band’s contract, For weddings, SoulPlay will happily perform a first dance of the client’s choosing, providing 30 days notice has been given.   • Do We Get Guaranteed Performers?
    SoulPlay & DJ Plus work with a team of over 70 musicians, vocalists, dancers and crew. Requests for specific members of the band’s personnel will always be honoured where possible, however to guarantee specific personnel the performers must be contracted individually. There will be a charge of £600+vat per performer for this service.
  • What Staging & Power Will You Require?
    Recommended minimum stage dimensions will depend on the size of band you have booked and all of our lineups require 13 amp mains power to be supplied to the stage area. Larger production packages offered by SoulPlay will require 32 or 63 amp 3-phase power, but this will all be discussed with you during the booking process.
  • Will you Need Parking & Access?
    Parking is required for all band and production vehicles locally to the venue at no cost to SoulPlay Prices quoted will assume there will be clear, safe and level access close to the performance location. For venues where loading is difficult (e.g. steps, stairs, grass, gravel, public loading bays, lifts or long distances) more time and/or crew will be required.
  • Do You Play At Venues With Sound Limiters?
    For venues with sound limiters we recommend one of our DJ Plus packages. Sound limiters struggle with instruments such as trumpets, drums and bass guitars. Recorded backing tracks are digitally compressed and limited. Consequently they are much more suited to venues with sound limiters.
  • Do You Have The Relevant Insurance And Certificates That Our Venue Will Need?
    SoulPlay and all of our production partners hold a minimum of £5 million Public Liability Insurance. Risk Assessments and Method Statements are available upon request. All equipment is regularly tested for electrical safety.
